The Department of administration is responsible to the day to day running of the Institute, in liaison with the Executive Director/CEO of the Institute. It serves as the secretariat of Management Committee (IMC) and departments of the Institute.

The Department operates through sections and units, namely; Central Administration (Establishment, Board/Management Secretariat, Registry, Legal, Pension and Welfare). Others are Medical, Security and Transport.

The department has units in the Institute’s outstations at Aluu and Buguma in Rivers State and Sapele in Delta State.


 Ivor Mbi Takor, mni

Mr. Takor joined the Institute on 30th March, 1977 and is presently the Head of Administration. He attended the University of Benin, Benin City and Lagos State University Ojo, Lagos and holds a Diploma in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B). He also attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru and was awarded Member of the National Institute (mni).

He held several elective positions in trade union organizations, including National President, Non Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and National Treasurer, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). Mr. Takor has served in several Federal Government Committees and Boards, including Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Trustfund Pension Plc and Member, National Labour Advisory Council (NLAC). He is currently a member, National Pension Commission Board.
